These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Cosa for use of the ScrollSpring app and related websites. By downloading, accessing, or using ScrollSpring, you agree to these Terms.

ScrollSpring is a Japanese language practice application providing tools for hiragana, katakana, starter kanji, phrases, and related skills such as reading, writing, typing, and speaking. Features may be added, changed, or removed as we improve the product.
Writing feedback uses simple stroke and proportion checks. It is practice feedback, not a guarantee of handwriting accuracy or fluency.
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your country. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should review these Terms and supervise your use.
You may use ScrollSpring in guest mode. Progress is stored on your device. Online accounts are not required for core practice today.
If Cosa later offers optional accounts, you must provide accurate information, keep login credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account.
Subject to these Terms and applicable store rules, Cosa grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ScrollSpring on devices you own or control for personal, non-commercial learning.

ScrollSpring may be offered as a paid app and/or with paid features through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Prices and availability are shown in the store at the time of purchase.
For purchase help, start with Apple or Google support for your store account. You may also contact caleb@cosa.net.au for product support.
You may create content in the app such as a display name, bio, profile image, and speaking recordings. You retain ownership of your user content. You grant Cosa a limited license to store and process that content on your device (and, if cloud features later exist, on our systems) solely to provide the service.
You are responsible for user content you provide and must not upload unlawful or infringing material.
ScrollSpring, including its software, branding, design, audio, and learning materials, is owned by Cosa or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Our collection and use of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of how the service works. Data deletion instructions are at Delete your data.
Product support is provided by Cosa via scrollspring.cosa.net.au/support and caleb@cosa.net.au. Store billing support is provided by Apple or Google for purchases made through their stores.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrollSpring is provided “as is” and “as available.” Cosa does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will achieve any particular learning outcome.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees, rights, or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cosa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of ScrollSpring.
Where liability cannot be excluded, Cosa’s aggregate liability for claims relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for ScrollSpring in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum amount required by law, whichever is higher.
You may stop using ScrollSpring at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or if required by law or store policy. Sections that by nature should survive termination will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, except where local law requires additional consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies to you.
If you downloaded ScrollSpring from the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply:
If you obtained ScrollSpring from Google Play, your use must also comply with the Google Play Terms of Service and any applicable Google payment policies. Product responsibility remains with Cosa.
